NYLSTAR’S MERYL® NEXTEN All the lightness and the versatility for the future The hollow fibre Meryl Nexten, the result of the most advanced Nylstar research and technology, continues its unrelenting path to the future. With its lightness and its high insulating power, it is, in fact, the perfect fibre to make future dresses, dresses that caress the body like soft plumes, protect it against all temperature variations and permit the skin to breathe freely. The fabric by Meryl Nexten is a genuine microclimate, that guarantees a thermal insulation boosted by 15% independently of the external temperature, but that, at the same time, doesn’t suffocate the body, indeed touches it softly and sweetly. In fact it is 30% lighter than other fabrics of the same thickness. This is the reason why it provides a unique sensation of freedom to the one who wears it. The other great skill of Meryl Nexten is versatility. Combined with other fabric or utilized by itself, this hollow fibre offers excellent clues to the producers for innovative applications and multiple usages for textile and knitwear products. Many leader companies, in fact, choose Meryl Nexten in order to bear their creations. Sincronia was the first company to have guessed the great Meryl Nexten potential for knitwear use. After the success of Cavità 3, utilized by Gattinoni for its “living dress”, so appreciated at the Rome’s High Fashion catwalks in January ’99, and by Prada for its Spring-Summer 2000 Collection, Sincronia presents at Première Vision five new tissues from Meryl Nexten. Hollow, Microforo and Perfect, “texturised”, are perfect for sportswear, but a fashion use is meeting with great success too. Reazione, indeed, a very soft mixture of Shetland wool and Meryl Nexten, is appropriate for a pleasant knitwear, that gratifies the body. Cavetto, finally, is a gauze extremely ethereal and sophisticated but capable of preserving the body heat more than any other fabric. Cavetto and Reazione are made of “twisted” yarn. Nero su nero has created an entire highly innovative line that takes advantage of the peculiarities of the hollow fibre Meryl Nexten: the Hollow Line. These new fabrics are made of pure hollow fibre or combined with natural or technical fibres. Particular finishes with very thin resins support the line. Hollow Line fabrics are technologically innovative, extremely light and thermal insulating; so they can be used both in sportswear and in fashion, creating “techno-fashion” future oriented products. Mectex, the first one to have utilized the hollow fibre, proposes again Piumec. Colmar used this tissue for the garments of the Technologic Lightech line, characterized by an excellent thermal efficiency and strength, amazing lightness and comfort. Allegri too has chosen tissue from Meryl Nexten for its elegant dresses that are light, appropriate to all seasons and with no limits to its use. A great range of new creations will be proposed indeed by Clerici Tessuto. There will be semi-technological tissues for a “sport-town” style, suitable in the city, casual and elegant at the same time. Their first peculiarity consists in dyed yarn. The result is superior brightness, more vivid nuances with shot effects. They have also tried to create light, gauzy but stiff tissues, by a combination of different fibres and fishes. Also Tessitura di Rovereto has realized with the hollow fibre Meryl new tissues that will be presented at Première Vision. They are Rover-plus, a new line studied for sportswear, that assures lightness and thermal insulation, independent of the external temperature. New uses of Meryl Nexten also by Sgat, Frantissor Creations, Bossi, Limonta and Mantero, who will present in Paris their collections for the Fall-Winter 2000-2001.
