Meryl® includes several sub-brands, each one representing a family of new products, specifically developed by Nylstar R&D.
The main applications areas are the Touch (Bright and Full Dull Microfibre), the Comfort (Souple), the Performance (Techno and Nexten) and the Look (Tango and Satiné).
Ideal for light garments, with direct contact to the skin, it finds its own natural application in stockings, socks and lingerie.
Meryl® Nateo : Multifunctional fibre, it gives your fabric the perfect combination of easy-care, natural look and feel, UV protection and moisture management regardless of make-up (flat, texturized or twisted yarn, mixed with other fibers or pure). Thanks to these characteristics, Meryl® Nateo is excellent for all activewear, bodywear and fashion garments.
Meryl® Nexten : Hollow polyamide fibre, exclusivity of Nylstar.
It allows the production of, either, lighter fabrics (-25/30 % than standard polyamide) with the same thickness, or more insulating and protective fabrics (+ 25% than standard PA) with the same weight.
Meryl® Nexten finds its best application in the winter protective garments (i.e. sky jackets) and it permits the production of light and, in the meantime, protective underwear for active people.
Meryl® Satiné : Fibre with lengthened rectangular section.
This specially designed section creates diffraction effects of reflected light, normally not present with regular round sections. The results on reflected light blends the typical polyamide soft light with a smooth sheen.
The fabric made with Meryl® Satiné has a soft textile handle, still maintaining a good abrasion resistance (Low pilling).
The smooth reflections of Meryl® Satiné give the best effects on the most elegant stockings.
Meryl® Skinlife : It joins the most advanced mix of intelligent polyamide yarns. Fibre with permanent bacteriostatic properties, it maintains a natural balance on the skin, regardless of activity level. Meryl® SkinlifE is perfect for garments which come in contact with the human body and find its application in sportswear, underwear, socks, hosiery, shoe linings, paramedical fabrics and industrial fabrics (technical fabrics, filters). This product has the same characteristics and advantages of a Meryl® microfibre yarn: comfort, an incredibly soft touch and high performance.
Meryl® Souple : Fibre with permanent antistatic properties, it gives a quick discharge of electrostatic ions, created by the friction on fabric’s surface during the activity.
The reduction of electrostaticity is strictly related to comfort and freshness sensation; Souple is ideal for underwear, lingerie and stockings.
Meryl® Techno : Special polyamide with increased abrasion resistance and higher tenacity, with high tensile and tear strength, it protects particularly from heavy weather conditions. It permits a balance between textile characteristic of lightness and strong protection.
Ideal for accessories (i.e. bags and sports shoes) and for all sports and activities, where it’s necessary to merge protection and wearability (i.e. motorcycling garments).
Meryl® UV Protection : All the full dull Microfibre yarns of Nylstar form this family of Meryl®, that, used in a correct way, offers excellent protection to UVA and UVB rays, better than cotton and the most common man-made fibres.
Ideal for garments in all activities under strong and long sunlight exposure, where there is not possibility, or the willingness, to use sun protective creams.
